Waking up to a couple of inches of fresh snow here this morning and more snow expected as we move through today and tonight. Forecasts today predict periods of snow and windy. We will have a morning high around 21 with temps falling into the single digits by this afternoon. Total snow accumulations here today/tonight are expected in that 3″-6″ range. Please travel safely out there this morning.
Our Chute chairlift will not be in operation today as we continue some maintenance efforts. Virginian will be operating, along with Sundance, Pioneer and Colt.
Due to the incoming sub-zero temps and dangerous windchill factors, Snowy Range Ski Area will suspend operations for Thursday, December 22nd. We have been watching the forecasts quite closely these past several days, and safety is always the primary concern when it comes to our guests and staff. With the negative temps combined with the temps, it appears we will see chill factors in the -30 to -40 ranges on Thursday, so we will simply pause operations for Thursday and resume operations on Friday, December 23rd and beyond.
All is shaping up for a wonderful holiday season here at Snowy Range. Grab the crew and make those online reservations now for some good times here on the mountain.
Please visit the Trails Report page for a list of our available terrain. Additional terrain will continue opening as snowfall continues, and we anticipate our main terrain park to debut later this week.
Thank you all for your continued patronage and support of Snowy Range Ski Area.
