Snowy Range is looking for Mountain Operations Staff. The applicant must be well-rounded, flexible, and enthusiastic about projects and tasks. This position requires the applicant to work well with others on many tasks including but not limited to:

  • Late summer/Fall Mountain prep
  • Snowmaking in the Pre-season (snowmobile use required)
  • Base area maintenance
  • Special projects
  • Snow Removal
  • Parking
  • Helping with lift rotations and maintenance

No experience is necessary. Must be willing to work in changing weather conditions. Some tasks may be physically demanding and require snowmobile use.

Snowy Range is seeking full-time weekday patrollers. Applicants must be an expert skier as maintaining and assisting guests on all trails is required.

SEASONAL FT

Summary:

Oversee lift operations efforts and on mountain activities, which broadly includes, maintaining records and documentation, scheduling, assisting with daily operations, on the mountain maintenance, event setup, and guest relations for Snowy Range Ski Area.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure customer needs are met in an accurate and timely manner with a friendly attitude and a welcoming smile!
  • Hire, schedule, and train employees, ensuring proper coverage as guest volume dictates.  
  • Maintain proper, professional and timely communication with customers and staff. 
  • Perform additional duties and communicate with other departments across all areas of the Ski Area to create a seamless guest experience. Cross train staff in different areas of on the mountain operations. 
  • Schedule, train, and supervise lift operations staff.
  • Ensure guests have a safe and enjoyable environment to recreate. 
  • Adhere to the handbook and be responsible for enforcement of Snowy Range Policy and Procedures.  
  • Work closely with the Ticket Office and Mountain Sports in support of groups, events, and other activities.
  • Cleanliness & organization of the lift operations areas
  • Ability to make it reliably to work in all weather, all winter long.

Preferred Skills (Included, but not limited to the following) 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills with the ability to work in multiple software programs.

Some experience is preferred, however, we are willing to train the right applicant. Ideal applicants must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires multitasking skills, the ability to follow directions, team leadership, and ensuring that food is prepared in a timely manner without sacrificing quality and presentation. Lodge Custodians are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our lodge and are vital to our guest experience. You will fulfill multiple roles, work as part of a team and must exhibit a positive attitude. Experience is not required as we provide training.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Mopping and sweeping
  • Stocking and cleaning bathrooms
  • Taking out the trash
  • Maintaining the overall cleanliness of the upstairs and downstairs lodge.

Join the Snowy Range team as a cashier! We are looking for people with a positive attitude and a willingness to remain flexible in their role. No experience is required, we provide training.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing transactions
  • Stocking shelves
  • Maintaining a clean working area
  • Assisting guests and employees

This is a customer service-based job where you will be responsible for assisting guests in safely loading and unloading chairlifts, and learning how to deal with special cases. You will learn the lift’s operational procedures and be asked to perform but not limited to the following job duties. Plus, you get to enjoy the beautiful outdoors!

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Shovel snow
  • Continuously maintain the conditions of lift mazes, loading and unloading platforms
  • Work positively with all resort staff and guests
  • Maintain slope cleanliness
  • Lift line control
  • Set up and removal of safety fences and lift mazes
  • Checking lift passes
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
  • Complete all daily lift paperwork

No experience is required, we provide training.

We are looking for passionate skiers/snowboarders with excellent customer service skills and fun outgoing personalities. This is a great opportunity to expand your skills and share your love for skiing and snowboarding with an emphasis on safety and fun. No previous teaching/instructor experience is necessary. Pay is dependent on experience and certification levels.
If you enjoy working with guests, are outgoing and are available on weekends and holidays; join us in our ticket office and retail shop. Knowledge of skiing/snowboarding is useful, but not required. This position is a fast paced environment. No experience is required, training provided.

Rental technicians are responsible for equipping guests with proper fitting equipment and ensuring safety while providing excellent customer service to every guest. This is a great opportunity to share and further your love and knowledge of gear. No experience is required, training provided.

This position requires the applicant to have great customer service, and a willingness to assist in other areas. Lodge hosts help manage lodge capacity, cleaning, and organization of the lodge.

We are reinventing our Ski Program here at Snowy Range Ski Area! We need a person willing to take on a project and help us develop a quality, comprehensive program for our area. We are hiring a Head Coach/Program Director for the 2022-2023 season and beyond. The Head Coach’s primary responsibility is to create and foster a safe, positive and fun environment for club athletes of all abilities. The ideal candidate will be able to work on both the development of the team overall, as well as run the program in a day to day setting, coaching on the hill, scheduling staff, taking racers out on trips, and building a foundation for Team Snowy to become a thriving club for the communities we serve. This position will require Strong communication skills, the ability to organize, a vision for where the program needs to be, and the ability to see your vision through to completion. This position will report to the Mountain Manager, and will be an Employee of the Snowy Range Ski Area. The position could be year round, or Seasonal depending on the direction of the club, and the candidate. Team Snowy is looking to provide families with a supportive community dedicated to the affordable pursuit of a life and a life-long love of skiing, Snowboarding, and winter sports overall. Our members range in age from U8 to U15, Ski Club families are active participants, providing volunteer support for racing, training, and social activities.

Duties of the Head Coach:

  1. Embrace the club mission and encourage the vitality of the ski club.
    1. Foster a safe, positive and fun environment for club athletes of all abilities.
    2. Promote a culture that is inclusive of all participants and their families.
  2. Communication with athletes and parents, coaches, ski area staff, and other clubs.
    1. Ensure communication of scheduled events to club members.
    2. Ensure that coaches are communicating race day and training information to athletes
      and parents with sufficient time to prepare.
    3. Ensure that racer entry information is submitted to other clubs in a timely manner.
  3. Hiring, supervision, and support of coaching staff.
    1. Actively seek feedback from coaches and provide ongoing feedback to coaches.
    2. Conduct end-of-season performance reviews of coaches, and plan for coaching staff
      needs from season to season.

    1. Perform an active coaching role on the hill, potentially as a lead coach for an age
      group, depending on availability and distribution of other coaches.
    2. Provide interactive instruction, drills, and guidance for racers as a group and on an
      individual basis.
    3. Attend races to represent and support Team Snowy’s racers.
  5. Oversight of training activities.
    1. Implement each day’s training activities.
    2. Ensure coordination with Ski Area Manager on assignment of training lanes and B-
      netting installation, with help of ski club volunteers.
    3. Ensure that training courses are set prior to racers arriving at the hill.
    4. Oversee proper care and storage of training equipment, and work with the Ski Area to
      inventory and order equipment as needed.
    5. Organize and attend fall dryland training events.
    6. Work with club coaches to facilitate access to summer and fall ski camp opportunities.
    7. Ensure coordination of off-site winter training opportunities.
  6. Oversight of club-hosted activities.
    1. Help to organize and coordinate Club-hosted races held by Team Snowy.
    2. Order awards and ensure timely presentation of awards after races.
    3. Participate as a race official as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience
  • Previous alpine racing experience
  • USSA Referee level 1 certification, pass a comprehensive background check, or willingness to attain certification
  • Ability to set courses for training and racing
  • Physically able to handle the demands of the job- carrying gate bundles, standing on snow in varying winter weather conditions, etc.
