Snowy Range is looking for Snow makers and Mountain Operations Staff. This position starts late October and transitions into the ski season. Snowmaking is one of the most important pieces to opening the mountain for the season. We are looking for hard working applicants who are detail orientated and able to work outside in extreme winter conditions. The applicant must be well-rounded, flexible, and enthusiastic about projects and tasks. This position requires the applicant to work well with others on many tasks including but not limited to

  • Late summer/Fall Mountain prep
  • Snowmaking in the Pre-season (snowmobile use required)
  • Base area maintenance
  • Special projects
  • Snow Removal
  • Parking
  • Helping with lift rotations and maintenance

No experience is necessary. Must be willing to work in changing weather conditions. Tasks may be physically demanding and require snowmobile use.

This is a full time year-round position with benefits. The employment is through Snowy Range Ski  Area. The expectations would be to manage the groups of ski and snowboard coaches. Ideally between 4-8 coaches. We like to accommodate all age ranges and ability leaves both skiing and snowboarding.  Any applicants would need to be able to build the pre-season and in season curriculum for the coaches to follow. As well as lead by example for your staff. There must be a desire for the applicant to also travel to area USSA/FIS races in the Rocky Mountain Division. A few additional expectations would be to communicate with the ski area as we are Team Snowy’s Board of Directors, help with all fundraising, as well as being  ready for any task the ski area needs from you during down times.  

Applicant Strengths: Has good communication skills, an extensive background in ski racing, on hill course knowledge, understanding of racing rules and regulations, the ability to travel with athlete’s to other mountains, a good attitude and understanding of what young athlete’s need throughout the season. A willingness to grow the sport at Snowy Range Ski Area.  

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for management and supervision of all kitchen and custodial operations. An ideal candidate will possess organizational and planning skills. The manager will be responsible for compliance with company policies and protocols as well as all Health Department regulations.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all kitchen, restaurant and custodial operations.
  • Daily activities will focus on motivating your team, controlling food & labor costs while maintaining high product standards along with proper cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and lodge areas.
  • Provide required training for all departmental staff members.
  • Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are properly staffed as needed while controlling effective labor costs.
  • Provide leadership to all staff members for excellent customer service and quality  
  • Schedule kitchen, restaurant and custodial staff for proper coverages.
  • Perform pre-season and in-season training for quality assurance and excellent guest service from all staff members
  • Coordinate weekly food and beverage orders and deliveries with various vendors.
  • Manages par levels, inventory and appropriate food storage methods
  • Consistently monitor food quality and portion control.
  • Ensures all equipment and kitchen area is kept clean and in excellent work condition through personal inspection and efforts.
  • Maintain necessary sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen, restaurant and lodge areas
  • In charge of daily records of business transactions, including but not limited to, daily sales, accounts receivable, bad checks and charges, over/under reports, and the recording and deposit of daily receipts. 
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with the Mountain Sports School and the Ticket Office for events, groups and pre-planned lesson meals
  • Perform other duties and provide support to all departments and the overall operations at SRSA to ensure guest experiences and expectations are met.

The Rental Manager oversees the rental operations at Snowy Range Ski Area, ensuring an efficient and positive experience for all guests. This role involves managing staff, maintaining equipment, and coordinating rental services to enhance the overall visitor experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily rental operations and staff scheduling.
  • Manage inventory of ski and snowboard equipment, ensuring all gear is well-maintained and available.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting guests with equipment selection and rentals.
  • Train and support rental staff on procedures and safety protocols.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of rentals, returns, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote special events and services.

Snowy Range is looking to hire a seasonal Mountain Sports School Director. An ideal candidate has knowledge of both skiing and snowboarding, great organizational and communication skills, flexible in a fast paced environment. The Director will be responsible for hiring, training and scheduling instructors.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for working with a seasoned mountain sports instructor core to provide excellent guest service and snow sports instruction to guests of all ages and ability levels.
  • Responsible for all facets of training, safety and supervision of staff as well as implementation and oversight of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Scheduling daily lessons and assigning instructors to classes
  • Monitoring lesson quality and guest satisfaction
  • Handling problematic situations and complaints, and determining methods to improve lesson experiences and overall organization of the processes.
  • Coordinating monthly training and safety meetings, and working to establish risk management initiatives to reduce on-hill incidents within the instructor core.
  • Coordinating lessons and groups with the ticket office
  • Working with kitchen staff for daily meal needs for full day lessons
  • Administrative duties pertaining to on-boarding, payroll functions, and many facets of documentation

Our Happy Jack Café is ready for you! We are looking for people with a positive attitude and a willingness to remain flexible in their role. Cashiers will be responsible for conducting transactions, stocking shelves, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the serving area. No experience is required, we provide training.
This position requires the applicant to have great customer service and a willingness to do whatever is asked of them. Lodge hosts help manage lodge capacity, cleaning, and organization of the lodge.
Lodge Custodians are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our lodge and are vital to our guest experience. You will fulfill multiple roles, work as part of a team and must exhibit a positive attitude. Experience is not required as we provide training.

Duties include but are not limited to mopping, sweeping, stocking, and cleaning bathrooms, taking out the trash, maintaining the overall cleanliness of the upstairs and downstairs lodge.

Rental technicians are responsible for equipping guests with proper fitting equipment and ensuring safety while providing excellent customer service to every guest. This is a great opportunity to share and further your love and knowledge of gear. No experience is required, training provided.
Some experience is preferred, however, we are willing to train the right applicant. Ideal applicants must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires multitasking skills, the ability to follow directions, team leadership, and ensuring that food is prepared in a timely manner without sacrificing quality and presentation. Snowy Range is looking for Servers/Bartenders to serve in the Libby Creek Bar and Grill this upcoming season. We are looking for positive and energetic servers to ensure our guests are provided with the best possible service. Ideal applicants enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with excellent customer service skills in a team environment. Some experience is required.
Snowy Range is hiring Lift Operators for the upcoming season. This is a customer service-based job where you will be responsible for assisting guests in safely loading and unloading chairlifts, and learning how to deal with special cases. You will learn the lift’s operational procedures and be asked to perform but not limited to the following job duties.

  • Shovel snow
  • Continuously maintain the conditions of lift mazes, loading and unloading platforms 
  • Work positively with all resort staff and guests 
  • Maintain slope cleanliness 
  • Lift line control 
  • Set up and removal of safety fences and lift mazes 
  • Checking lift passes
  • Work outside in all weather conditions
  • Complete all daily lift paperwork 

 No experience is required.

Snowy Range is looking for Ski/Snowboard instructors for the upcoming season. We are looking for competent skiers/snowboarders with excellent customer service skills and fun outgoing personalities. This is a great opportunity to expand your skills and share your love for skiing and snowboarding with an emphasis on safety and fun. No previous experience is necessary. Pay is dependent on experience and certification levels.

Knowledge of skiing/snowboarding is useful, but not required.
